The schools in West Linn and Lake Oswego should your children choose to attend are the best around. We are "small town" people which Beaverton, although a nice place, is not. I guess that might be longer than a lot of people want but for us it is worth it to live there. He is even thinking of bicycling halfway and taking the bus over the summer which would only take just over an hour. My husband works in IT in Beaverton and his commute is only 35-40 minutes by car. The slogan of West Linn is "city of hills, trees and rivers". The mountain views, hills, trees and rivers are wonderful. There are also some great local restaurants to check out and the historic Willamette district is just so quaint and full of fun shops and eateries. It is a great community with a lovely farmer's market, wonderful MOMS club, and just a ton of small town community feel and warmth yet with nearby access to big city amenities. Young park has lots of trails with access to the Willamette and a very nice dog park. ![]() It is so nice to sit and watch the gentle whitewater on the Tualatin and see the waterfowl or to take the kids to the "beach" on the Willamette. West Linn has awesome parks, including several with river access to either the Tualatin and/or Willamette rivers. I moved to a nearby area thinking that it would be "close enough" and after two years I have sold my house and am moving to West Linn. ![]() You will love either Lake Oswego or West Linn.
